Jenny Nyström - Kalmar County Museum has a permanent exhibition dedicated to Kalmar-born artist Jenny Nyström (1854–1946), who was admitted to the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 1873. In 1881, her competition painting won her the Royal Gold Medal and a substantial grant, which enabled her to travel to Paris and hone her artistic skills.
