The picture is captured during an evening when I had another picture in mind. After a long walk throughout Söder Mälarstrand on my way to Slussen I passed this view and got ready to take some photos. It always feels like winning the lottery if you pass calm water and a nice mirror one the water on Riddarfjärden. This night in August I was lucky to discover calm water and beautiful white and exciting clouds.

This picture started as an idea to capture the Old Town’s proximity to the water and offer something like an “island feeling”. The picture is captured handheld from the ferry which travels from Djurgården to the Old Town. It took a year and a half and approximately ten trips before the picture turned out the way I imagined it. During a magical evening in June I finally captured it.

During the night frost has gathered on the tree branches and when the sunlight is directed towards the tree the branches shine brightly. The photograph is shot in the small village Vålbacken in Jämtland.

In the northern parts of Sweden we speak about “spring winter” and refer to that time of the year when the sun shines brightly over the landscape which is filled by snow. A nice time of the year when people go skiing and spend time in the nature. The name of the mountain is Gaajsartjahke and is located in the southern parts of Lappland. 

The Dream of Sweden is often the dream of a red cabin by a lake, surrounded by farmland. Here you can see a typical cabin by Storsjön in Jämtland.

The image of the moose is shot in the northern part of the Dalarna region, near Särna.

I have lived in Hong Kong since 2011. During one trip back to Sweden in 2014 I wanted to take photos of beautiful places around the Jönköping region so that I could show my friends in Hong Kong how the scenery around my home town looked like.

Brahe Hus was one of the spots I knew I wanted to visit. I spent a few hours during a fantastic sunset by the iconic building and the result need no explanation.

During the same week I was visiting some friends and passed Basta Kvarn Café in Blidsberg. I stop there and get an ice cream on this warm summer day and see this wonderful view. I walk back and get my camera and spend half an hour and bring this gorgeous photo with me home.

The low mid winter sun provides a golden color for Åreskutan and Åredalen. 

I get a feeling of freedom when I approach the area where the lighthouse Långe Erik is located in the far north of Öland.

I can feel history pass when I arrive at a the Kvarn windmill in Hagaby, Öland that for generations was used to grind grain into flour.
